The breadbasket of Isilendor, Braitheld is known for its farming lands. However, it does also have a more harsh country in the north with the Caeraigs.

The people

Braitheld was where humans first settled. The men and women of Braitheld are bred to deal with hardship and strife. Wanting to make their name in history, their history has become one filled with war. Both with each other and against the other realms. It is no wonder that Braitheld has a large host of different military forces.
However, the realm has still flourished.

The people of Braitheld can roughly be divided up into three groups; the Coastal peoples, the Mountain clans, and the Grassland peoples.

The Coastal people are highly independent, and dominated shiplords and guild masters. They are also skilled navigators, though some have turned that to piracy.
The Mountain clans are generally nomadic and have through time had a tendency to war among each other. The mountain settlements were among the first. Being from the mountains the clans share a strong bond with the dwarfs of Delvheim.
The largest group is the Grassland people. They are mainly horse people and farmers, making sure that there are crops to trade.

Paladin Orders - In 1405 OE eight orders were created by the High Inquisitor, Bessian, as a response in King Renovick I’s attempt to dispose of him.
The Treaty of the Three People - An agreement signed in 2021 OE by the chieftains and the major shiplords along with the Ruler, to avoid another war.

Places

The Barren March - The main trade road that runs from Braitheld to Akasuna, though it was left barren during the Great War. It’s an unsheltered road when the weather is harsh, but it also gives great visibility.

The Mountain Byways - During the Great war when the Barren Marsh was too open an area to travel, the Mountain Byways were used. Slow and treacherous to travel, it also required good knowledge of the route.

Morcilla - The capital in the north part of the realm, Morcilla is a port along Avalon.

Pelious - Is a port city in the south. Besides the port activity, it is also well-known for the Salty Wench.

The Connacháin Estate - An abandoned estate in eastern Braitheld. A mystic placed a curse on the estate.

The Fae’s Palace - In a forest on the north side of the Caeraig mountains, there is a ruin of an ancient palace. It is said to have been built by a nobleman for his wife, who was a nymph.
