The battle continued until the last one of the dwarves fell down.
It was a massacre. Dragons were flying in the sky, blowing fire down to the armies and ships. Dwarves were burning alive, falling the next after the next, making piles of dead and burned bodies.
They became dust and bones. And when the battle ended they couldn't pick them up. They resolved on their hands. So they left them there and that battlefield was named " The Tall Mountain " because of the piles of bodies that remained.
Their king was captured and they put him into a dungeon, somewhere in Braitheld's capital city.
None heard about him. The remaining dwarves went back to their mountains and it took less than a year to fix their economy from this failed campaign. They had valuable stones after all, wealth helps a realm to stand on its feet.
But the leadership was a problem.
They had to declare their new king. The decisions their council took to participate in that war to the wrong side made them go into a hiatus that not even gold could solve this problem...
The other half of Braitheld's army was gathered outside of Akasuna's capital city.
The commanders gave instructions to their men about the plan of the siege and the attack.
Everyone seemed eager to finish this war and attacking their capital seemed like it would bring a victory to them and an end.
They charged in two fronts on both sides while they set their archers in the middle.
They knew they would have many casualties if they charged the gate. Akasuna would defend their gate at any cost. Ladders was the answer. And they made it !
They fought very aggressively. Braitheld's and Eldathren's army wanted this war to end. Akasuna wanted to defend their home. They fought with every man they had available and every weapon they could find. Both knew the result before the battle would end. However the king of Akasuna wanted to cause damage to his enemies. That's why he didn't surrender.
In the end horns were heard. And the battle stopped.
The king had mercy in the end. He didn't like seeing his people getting killed. He gave up.
Konrand and Aliphera were in the castle. Aliphera rushed inside the keep with her men and made sure none would leave, especially the king. She almost tried to kill him. But Konrand saved his life by saying not to. It seemed they both had a bond and respected each other. The she-elf thought he had a plan for the king. She wanted to take revenge for her fallen dragon. But revenge had to wait.
The formal surrender would happen outside of Akasuna's capital. It was Konrand's order. Because it meant the king had no home anymore. He would never see his throne and his servants. His people feel safe behind the city's wall.
He bent the knee in front of Konrand while his army was around and his dragons were flying in the sky.
He addressed them as his own dragons. Of course none had a problem with that. None... yet ( To be continued ).
