When the sellswords reported back to Konrnard he took some of his best dragon riders and flew right away to meet Graix.

The trip lasted enough to run every simple scenario in his head of why this happened.
Why his right hand said nothing about those dragons and how it was possible to not know beasts or eggs were missing. They always kept records with numbers. There had to be an explanation

When they met each other it felt like they had to see each other for a long time.
It wasn't completely false. Konrand was busy now that he was leading Braitheld and Graix taking care of those dragons.

They passed some time talking about their experience the past weeks. Something they used to do every time having a meeting and they drank some good wine.

Konrand changed the subject suddenly. He asked why he kept dragons in this area and as a secret from him.
Graix hated that he said nothing about it but he felt he did it for the good.

He explained that people started seeing dragon riders as something dangerous.
They were still scared when they spotted a dragon in the sky and there were moments when they couldn't control their fire when a battle would take place in a city or close to a village. Parts of the forest were burnt and the ground. Houses too, innocents were killed.

Konrand explained the council was working to find a solution and that Craix should know if he would take part. Something he avoided lately.
The outcome ? Less dragon riders would be involved in battles. Now that there was no big opponent but only some rogues there was no need to call in these big weapons

Graix turned mad in no time. He believed dragon riders were the reason Isilendor was in peace. Because they feared them.
And keep them hidden ? That brought shame to him. It seemed that Graix was that one person who would put his dragon above everything. And that's what he did.

That's why he " saved " some beasts for himself and his followers. To keep the flame alive in case things would take a different turn.

Konrnad tried to explain why that was dangerous. They didn't have all the tools and experience to keep them tamed.

They kept arguing about it. Some of the riders that were in the room said their opinion. Half agreed, half didn't.
None could make them stop. Not a human being at least.

There was a loud noise coming from the sky and guards started calling for help.
One of the dragons started acting violently. He smashed the battlements with his tail and destroyed a small section of that wall's part. Then it flew away. Alone. Without a rider on its back.

Konrand was very angry. He ordered every one of them to go find the dragon. And no matter what would happen there will be consequences. Graix was standing on thin ice...

~Epilogue ~

- Clean your mind. Use your power
- I'm trying. I'm...
- I'm not training you for weeks to just keep trying, Aliphera. Use your power !

A loud noise sounded and then pieces of stone were destroyed. Aliphera fell on her knees, sweating and weak.
