Alchemist
What is an Alchemist?
Alchemist
s practice alchemy. Alchemists’ creations can give and take away life, they can enhance natural abilities and take away them in a heartbeat. Some creations can have long-lasting effects, while others are temporary.
In DnD, alchemist
s may often be regarded as unstable, unpredictable and dangerous as the concoctions they brew. Some artificers of alchemy are content with living sedentary lives as merchants, true alchemists have deeper callings; compared to a spell caster casting magic, the alchemist captures their own magical potential within liquids and extracts. They can infuse chemicals with virulent power to grant them impressive skills with poisons, explosives and all manners of self-transformative magic.
Real World Alchemists
In the real and modern world, alchemists are more known as chemists. Here are a list of some of the most famous chemists and what got their name on the map:
Joseph Priestley (1733 - 1804)
The first scientist to discover oxygen. In August of 1774, he isolated was he called “air” that appeared to be a completely new theory. Then again, in March 1775 that he wrote to several people about this new air after conducting experiments to it.
Alfred Nobel (1833–1896))
Considering the most prestigious awards in the world of academia is presented in his name, it’s fair to say Alfred Nobel is among the greatest minds in the field. He was a highly successful chemist credited with the invention of dynamite, which historically proved incredibly useful for blasting tunnels, building railways and constructing roads. And with the widespread use of dynamite, Nobel had accumulated great wealth. He even had in his will that his fortune be used for presenting annual awards in the fields of chemistry, medicine, physics, literature and peace, with an aware for economics later added. Today, Nobel Prizes are the pinnacle of achievement in these fields.
Marie Curie (1867–1934)
Marie Curie is one of the most famous names in all of science. Part of this is due to the charity set up in her name, but her achievements in chemistry also merit recognition. In 1903, she became the first woman to win a Nobel Price for Physics. In 1911, upon winning the Nobel for Chemistry, Curie became the first person to win two Nobel Prizes. She is still the only woman to ever do this and remains the only person to win two Nobel Prizes in multiple sciences. How did she earn this? Well, Curie discovered polonium and radium, with her 1911 Nobel Prize awarded for the isolation of radium and its compounds. She’s also known for introducing X-Ray technology and radium into medicine.
Alchemists in World of Legends
Alchemists are very much within the lore on site, we even have some well known alchemists that have either taught or previously taught Alchemy to others on site. These are:
Ilyana Neririe
Arulíaine Charmaetíen
Our current Alchemy Skillmaster is
Natdrithra Heavybraid, who was kind enough to give a quote regarding the subject;
Alchemy is a branch of natural philosophy and involves potion making that aims to transform base metals into precious ones, discover the philosopher's stone, and achieve immortality among many other things. It has a long history that spans over several cultures and traditions, including the ancient Akasuna, Delvheim, Braitheld and Eldathren. Alchemy involves various practices, including experimentation, laboratory work, and spiritual or mystical beliefs. The alchemical process includes the sun, moon, and planets, and mythical creatures like dragons and phoenixes, too! Come and study alchemy with me and dive into a world of psychology and spirituality, science and philosophy."

Alchemical Shops
There are a few shops on site that are an Alchemist's go to. Here is the list and what items are within them.
The Astronomer
This shop contains the Alchemical Chart.
The Botanist
Contains a variety of ingredients and apparatus that are needed for alchemy.
Then you have infamous shops like the black market… that contain I suppose some would say questionable ingredients like eyeballs, a severed finger, a human skull and potions such as the notorious threasine, a popular and illegal one. If you get caught with it, that is on you!
