Enchanting
is the act of imbuing objects with magical properties, essentially transforming them from ordinary to extraordinary. The process is quite simple, enchanters are often skilled mages or artisans. They use spells, rituals or even rare materials to weave magic into an item. The effects of an enchantment can vary, some examples include;
- Increased Power: A weapon can become sharper, a shield or blunt weapon stronger.
- Special Abilities: A ring may grant invisibility or a staff that can summon lightning.
- Protective Enchantments: A cloak that is resistant to fire, or a necklace that can ward off evil spirits.
Enchanting can be seen as very useful and important as it can give people an advantage in battle, protect them from danger or even assist in solving difficult puzzles.

- Legends: Four enchantments of the same type, Three enchantments of different types.
Enchanting was intwined with the history of Delvheim. It is the art of imbuing magical properties onto otherwise mundane objects. It is as vast as the imagination of the Enchanter. When a mundane item is enchanted it is imbued with a player’s own magical power. Similar to how a spell can feed off of your mana.
Be warned though, not all objects are created equally when it comes to enchanting, as an object forged or crafted with the idea in mind of enchanting, will have a higher success rate of accepting enchantments.
You can purchase Enchanted items in
The Collector which can be used in duelling.
Enchanting in Other Media
Elder Scrolls
In The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim,
Enchanting
is one of six skills that fall under the Mage category. Enchanting in Skyrim is a type of arcane crafting, and is one of three crafting skills. It also allows the Dragonborn to add certain magical improvements and buffs to things like weapons, armour and jewellery.
Minecraft
In Minecraft, enchanting is a mechanic that involves armour, tools, weapons and books with one or more of a variety of enchantments. The mechanic is set to help players improve an item’s existing abilities or imbue them with additional abilities and uses. Any item that is enchanted has a special shiny animation over it.
Live Action Role Play: Herofest
LARP systems also have elements of enchanting but with slightly different variables. In Herofest, enchanting is typically linked in with crafting. As the enchanter gains skill ranks, they acquire knowledge of individual symbols. The enchanter can sought for additional symbols through research, trade and exploration. While the standard language for enchanting is runes, there are many others amongst the lands of Orin Rakatha. Enchanters must understand the weight of their decisions as they carefully choose the right symbols of power and weave them into an item’s pathways. A mistake can significantly reduce the impact of the enchantment.
However, there are also more magical ways of enchanting from elemental mages or priests of power. Some of the options for spells can enchant a weapons, blunt, shields, sharp and even flintlocks and bows and arrows. The variety of spells that could be classed as enchanting, can either increase power or cause more damage, but these spells have a limited time slot depending on level of the mage or priest and what they have chosen to excel in.
