Into the Forge

To Forge a Future

If you are interested in becoming a Blacksmith, you will want to become comfortable and familiar with the heat of a

forge

. In your very first lesson with the Blacksmithing Skill Master, Jorg Farwynn, he highlights the

forge

as the most important tool for a Blacksmith. This is the tool required to melt down the metal you need to shape into blades and armour.

While cold blacksmithing is a technique, heating the metal is far more effective for manipulating the shape and getting fast, accurate results. Most of the time, cold forging is used for the finishing touches, carving embellishments, amd a few softer metals that would disappear on a hot

forge

.

To Forge the Past

It was recently discovered that the ancient kingdom of Valenheim had an unusual, unique

forge

to manufacture their steam-powered machinery out of Valik shards. It is not quite certain whether the Valik shards found in Valenheim are a metal or gemstone. The material was resurfaced in an event that almost ended in a war between Helios - the Northern Sun, and Tenebria - the Night Lord. The Valikal Steamblade was forged into the New Era and was designed as an opposition to the Dual Nephrite Daggers, created from Nephrite Ore found in the Valley of Despair.
