Farmers of Isilendor

Due to the diverse landscape of Isilendor, each region and realm has different specialities of farmers. We will go through each realm to discuss their farming capabilities and the trade patterns between these realms.

Braitheld is the most recognised for having vast, fertile lands. They are able to produce a lot of crops in the harvest season and regularly supply food to the other realms. Braitheldean farmers have suitable land for raising cattle, sheep and pigs. Farmed goods would be the main export of the realm.

Eldathren farming is not widely documented but they do have some farmland on the main continent. However, their main source of food comes from hunting, and foraging. Southern islands are home to fisheries, and the northern woodlands harbours the Oazzi fruit - an Eldathrean delicacy.

Delvheim struggles to maintain a stable crop due to the severe mountainous landscape. Lowlands near river Avalon are somewhat suited to small farms. Delvheim is a big importer of food, honouring a long standing trade deal with Braitheld in exchange for metals, weaponry and tools. Some farms have survived the valleys in the uplands, though most often these just house goats. Cliff fishing is notable to the west, with many shellfish making their bed in the rocks.

Akasuna, the desert realm, houses very few farms but does have some specialty grains, chickpeas and lentils near the river basin of the capital city. A nomadic farming tribe known as the Airakesh follow the rains across Akasuna, harvesting dates, olives and figs within the oasis springs. These people trade within Akasuna. Citrus fruits are a prized find in the desert.
