Steampunk
Old Meets New
The concept of
Steampunk
details worlds that present with a mix of retro, old school aesthetics and a futuristic environment. Imagine medieval worlds, old fashion ideals but with unusual, steam powered inventions in rotation. Typically it is technology not actually from that time period; clocks, blimps, steam engines, robotics etc. The most common form of Steampunk blends Victorian England with new age machinery, you may have seen top hats with strange goggles, metallic twists to Belle Epoque dresses or mechanical airships depicted flying over London.
"Punk" was used as a reference to cyberpunk, the much more futuristic rendition of a fantasy world design. Steampunk
was originally a parody on the cyberpunk concept but grew in popularity and eventually making its way into many forms of media. While Steampunk
as a term is relatively new, the art and designs behind it have been seen in old texts and art work for a long time. Leonardo De Vinci is somewhat of a steampunk icon for his diagrams and inventions during unlikely times.

World of Legends: Valenheim
World of Legends centers around the medieval high fantasy world of Isilendor. The majority of the world follows concepts from classic medieval tales, with fantasy and magic woven in. However, a
Steampunk
environment was dropped into the equation during "Shadow of an Eclipse", the deity event that saw the Night God, Tenebria, go to war with Helios - the Northern Sun and Riddle Master. During this event it was revealed that a realm known as Valenheim was long lost beneath the Delvheim mountains, before Delvheim even existed.

Valenheim was home to a race of people known as Valiks, created by Helios himself. Valenheim is very much a
Steampunk
classic with machinery and mechanisms that kept the realm in a slumber. Not much is known of the Valiks or if any of their ancestors still live today. What is known; is that the Valiks were highly progressive, wielding a mixture of metal, intellect, and sometimes arcana to invent incredible devices. Valik Shards were unearthed in the event and used to forge Valikal Blades.
A Valikal Blade is a shining example of Valenheim machinery. It features a glass chamber beneath the hilt, and a lever that creates a fiery vortex that acts as its blade. There is little to no magic involved in containing the blaze.
Return of Valiks
Valik ancestry is rumoured to have been discovered... Mythics of Helios are able to claim this ancestry but that's not all. January 2026 may witness a mountain of new adventures.

Artificers
Artificers are a type of spellcaster found in Dungeons and Dragons (D&D), first officially announced in 2004, though it was a subclass for wizards from 1996. They carry
Steampunk
elements, using magic and machinery to build incredible items to both heal and harm. Artificers appeared in the 2nd edition of D&D and most often worship Gond, the god of crafts and inventions. Communities of gnomes have become renowned Artificers. Wizards and Artificers are similar in design, both requiring training and practice to master their craft.
