Your Elemental Spirit:

Note: each definition is an extract from the book "An Era of Old" by Merialeth Ellasidil, edited by Petra Lowell

Mostly A's - Undine
Visual of an Undine water spirit Deep in the forest, in the streams originating from the mountains or the various rivers running there, you would find the Undines. These spirits looked somewhat like the human women we know now, although they are different in one regard. They were said to lack a soul. It is said that the appearance of an Undine without a soul is attractive, resembling that of a real human. Just one married to their body of water as an Undine will never stray from the water. Undines had a beautiful singing voice that they would add to the already vast amount of sounds in the forest. Their voice could carry for miles and lure men to them from miles away. They consist of water and they can travel around in the water they live in. The aim of the Undine was to gain the heart of a mortal being, and have him marry her, so there are more than a few ancient tales of young Elven men being led astray by these watery beauties.

Mostly B's - Aether
A shadowy, magical figure depicting the Aether Aether is potentially the most mysterious of the Elementals, and it is the only one without a known form. Just traces remain of this Elementals presence. This Elemental is said to be one that had emerged with the purpose of restoring the balance between the other four - he would end the war of the Elementals (more information on this war below). Aether’s magic is not something which can be easily harnessed by mere people, not like the other Elements. Aether is described as being space matter, and the void between the spiritual realm and Isilendor. Aether is also deemed as the bind of the other Elementals, the missing link which maintains that harmony - the peacekeeper of the Elementals. Aether does not belong to the land itself, which was why his trace on it is so small.

Mostly C's - Sylph
The whispy figure of a Sylph air spirit There were spirits who belonged in the air. We name them Sylphs or Sylphids now. They are invisible beings who enjoy dancing through the sky. They made the branches rustle, formed great formations of clouds and made the leaves dance on the wind. It's often believed they were the most peaceful among the Elementals. Where some other species had the tendency to cause mischief or even destruction, the Sylphs wouldn't do anything along these lines. Unlike the other Elementals, there is no definitive form for Sylphs. Cloud-like creatures which took the shapes of men, women, and records even claimed to see giants in the sky even momentarily. Sylphs can form their desired shape in seconds from the air around.

Mostly D's - Evorte
The burning wolf, an Evorte fire spirit Everything has its balance though and this is the exact reason that the Evorte exists. These were the spirits of chaos and caused a lot of destruction. They looked like any wolf, although they had fire trailing behind them. Wherever they went, things would lit up and precious parts of nature would burn down. They were highly unpredictable and quite dangerous. Their name leads back to the ancient elven language where it means ‘destruction’. An understandable choice for the Elemental spirit of fire.

Mostly E's - Spriggan
A Spriggan, spirit of the earth and forest Then there were the Spriggans. These were the spirits of the earth. They have some similarities with trees, although they are far more complex. They consist of wood and magic. They would often be found in the forest, where they felt at home but you also weren’t unlikely to spot them in underground caverns. Their favourite place is where these two would combine, being under the surface of the earth with nature around them was what they enjoyed most. They are mischievous spirits, most likely to cause some chaos if possible. Even though they look like trees, they can move faster than you would expect. They would easily blend in with the forest around them, making it a perfect place for them to hide. Despite being easy to blend into their surroundings, Spriggans often hid away in deep caves and caverns, deep underground.
