Buff Enchantments
Buff runes are versatile, beneficial runes for any adventurer. Typically they are used to enhance natural abilities such as speed, senses, charisma. There are spells in the Arcane Arts and Divine Arts that grant these buffs, however the mana required means they don't last too long and can only be applied in temporary situations. The enchantments allow for longer lasting effects of this same magic.
When carved into an object, the enchantment can alter the properties to allow the following effects:
- Haste - Adds speed to the user of the object on flat ground. Best applied to shoes or trousers.
- Light - Makes the object glow. Can be added to magically charged lanterns.
- Ice - Cools anything it comes into contact with. Sometimes used in high end food and drink establishments to keep products cold.
- Camouflage - Allows the user to blend in with their environment. Best used on clothes, especially cloaks for a wider effect.
- Respiration - Allows the user to breath where they would not usually be able to.
- Strider - Allows haste-like speed to be maintained in all terrains. Commonly used in by those frequently travelling Akasuna to avoid sinking in deep sand.
- Sensory Overload - Heightens the user’s senses.
- Ownerbound - Returns the item to its owner when it is away for more than a day.
- Energy - Boosts the mana of the user.
- Teleportation - Teleports anything it comes into contact with to the place the enchantment was created. Teleportation runes are required to craft portals paired with Citrine crystals. They are also used in conjunction with Ametrine to send long distance communication.
- Invisible - Renders the user invisible. An incantation is often required to boost the effects of the rune. "Cinys, Cadin, Elophis" which means Light, Refract, Lost.
- Charmspeak - Makes the user seem more believable when lying
