Konrand heard about a rogue dragon roaming around Braitheld. Like the very first time when they came in contact with them after ages.
What made him anxious wasn't the dragon itself. They knew how to tame them. It was the reason why this dragon is out there alone. Because their Order had every one of them under control. And they didn't miss any eggs or beasts.
Their council decided to investigate the situation. Track the dragon down and find out what happened.
However they shouldn't show any signs of panic to the citizens of the realm. If they would see dragons in the sky they would think there was another war or something strange was going on.
For that reason the council found a way.
Sellswords ask no questions, always accept every kind of job if you " wash " them with silver and gold and they respect the rules you set: No killing the dragon
They hired about 30 of them. All capable of finishing the mission at any cost. More could join but Konrand didn't want many eyes on them. It would look more suspicious.
It took them two days to track the dragon and they found the beast close to the north-west region of Braitheld.
There was no rider on its back. Once the dragon saw the sellswords it decided to go close to the mountains.
They followed it on horses. It wasn't difficult for them and the road seemed quite easy to run onto. As if someone fixed this part of land for easy transportation.
But there were no signs around. Only mountains and brown, cold grass.
The beast arrived at a place that looked like a fortress. It had a huge and long bridge and it was made of stone.
The group noticed there were more dragons. Some were sitting on the towers and others were flying around. Those had riders on them.
And when they arrived at the gate some men approached them. One of them was Konrand's general and right hand, Graix: The man who found and stole eggs months ago and none suspected anything...
