Personality & Powers

Solis is the first of the celestial siblings, and the older twin to Helios. He is known as the Southern Sun, keeping light and order across Eldathren and Braitheld. He often keeps his distance from mortals, unlike his brother, Helios and sister, Lemuria. Solis believes perfection cannot be achieved if he involves himself too much in their lives. His younger brother Asmundis shares this sentiment even more so. At most, Solis will allow followers to see the light within themselves and understand their fate and destiny. Truly devoted followers have given their sight to the Sun God in order to achieve true insight. Solis admires leadership and those who seek knowledge. He likes to shed light on truth tellers and scholars.

History & Events

In the beginning, there was only darkness and the Night God, Tenebria. Soon after sprung the 2 suns, Solis and Helios. Solis favoured order and perfection, while Helios favoured chaos and the progression of their world. The pair loved each other as brothers but often kept their distance, with Solis choosing to lord over the southern portion of Isilendor. There, he watched over the lands through the time of the elemental spirits and the elves. He took great pride in providing sunlight to the newly formed elven realm, boasting of their beauty and hard work. So much so that Helios took it upon himself to sew the beginnings of Valenheim, the first kingdom in the north that has long been lost to the ages.

Solis wished everything would stay the same, keeping steady order in the realm. However, he had not fully anticipated the will of mortals. Through the years, the elves migrated north and joined with the newly founded Delvheim. At first it irritated him to see his brother's realm get the attention but a new alliance was forged, bringing greater knowledge and gifts to Eldathren. He was also not too fond of the arrival of humans, but observed how they led themselves and fought their corner. It didn't take long for the humans to unknowingly win his affections.

Not much was seen of the Sun Lord through the years. The only ones who really saw him were blinded afterwards in exchange for knowledge and foresight.

During the New Era, after Tenebria was released from his prison, Sol grew jealous of the Night Gods' new found worship and could not understand why the mortals set him free. In his envy, the Southern Sun abandoned his post to Tenebria, leaving the southern realms in complete darkness. His actions generated a chain of events that caused much suffering. The flora and fauna began to die out and in an attempt to save it, Asmundis sacrificed himself. This led to a war that brewed between Helios and Tenebria. Only at the last moment did Solis come to his senses and return to Isilendor in a blast of light. He admitted his true intentions were to harm Tenebria and his reputation. Thus began an era of distrust in the Southern Sun.
