Magical Masters:

Pyromancer

What is a Pyromancer?

A

Pyromancer

is a type of magic user that is more experienced or specialised in fire magic. This mage primarily uses fire magic in their day to day spell casting. Most

Pyromancer

s have a natural affinity to fire magic but can have skill in other areas of magic.

The title of

Pyromancer

is often appointed by other people, when recognising a mage for their skill with fire magic. The Mage's Manse and the Arcana Arena both recognise

Pyromancer

s and encourage them to educate other fire mages.

Variations of Pyromancers:

It may be surprising to learn there is more to

Pyromancer

s than simple fire spells. They can utilise their abilities in different ways and can sometimes gain recognition for this.

Solar Pyromancer - A Pyromancer that uses energy from sunlight in their magic. Clerics/Priests of the sun gods, Helios and Solis are usually more attuned to solar fire magic.

Darkfire Pyromancer - A Pyromancer that dabbles in the Dark Arts can create corrupted or cursed flames. These flames typically appear black in colour and are more difficult to put out by normal means.

Bluefire Pyromancer - A Pyromancer with the ability to produce flames of extremely intense heat (between 1,400 to 1,600 degrees Celsius). The flames turn blue due to the heat. This can be quite challenging even for the most skilled Pyromancer.

Phoenix Pyromancer - A Pyromancer that is experienced with incorporating fire onto their person. Often the incorporation and trajectory of their spells allows them to jump into momentary flight. They appear with a cloak of fire not unlike wings.

Holy Fire Pyromancer - A cleric/priest type of Pyromancer that can bless their fire in order to heal or protect others.

The Magic of Fire

For the most part, fire is a highly offensive form of elemental magic. Fire is used primarily for attack when wielded but has its uses out of combat as well, to start a campfire and send warning signals. A caster can protect themselves in flames or incinerate their foes. Be careful not to cross a pyromancer as they’re often hot tempered and quick to attack. Akasuna tends to produce the most pyromancers. Saying the Eldalair word, Fierto, can increase the heat of the flames. The sun gods Solis and Helios give favour to pyromancers, granting solar flare powers to those devoted enough. Fire magic is more difficult to produce at high altitudes and in deep water. Sun exposure and proximity to fire give pyromancers an advantage. Some pyromancers can harness fire so intensely hot that the flames turn blue.
