Magical Masters:
Geomancer
What is a Geomancer?
A
Geomancer
is a type of magic user that is more experienced or specialised in earth magic. This mage primarily uses earth magic in their day to day spell casting. Most Geomancer
s have a natural affinity to earth magic but can have skill in other areas of magic.
The title of Geomancer
is often appointed by other people, when recognising a mage for their skill with earth magic. The Mage's Manse and the Arcana Arena both recognise Geomancer
s and encourage them to educate other earth mages.
Variations of Geomancer:
It may be surprising to learn there is more to
Geomancer
s than simple earth spells. They can utilise their abilities in different ways and can sometimes gain recognition for this.
Herbalist Geomancer - A geomancer gifted with gardening. They primarily use their skill to grow and care for plants. Many herbalist geomancers become alchemists or farmers.
Mineral Mage - Skilled geomancers can combine their magic with water to generate and control crystals. They can also have a knack for mining rare minerals.
Sand Shifter - A geomancer that can shift and create sand. They are exceptionally gifted at walking across sandy terrain and survive well in the desert..
Gravitational Geomancer - This is a particularly powerful geomancer that can move large boulders and chunks of earth. Though rare, some can even pull meteorites from the sky.
Golem Master - Each element can create sprites but geomancers are more known for mastering animation and controlling golems made from earth and vines.

The Magic of Earth
Earth magic is the definition of strength and endurance. It is the element of growth and defense. Skilled wielders of earth magic can conjure plant-life and vines from the ground. They can hurl boulders, create rocky defenses, camouflage brilliantly into natural environments and create the most ground shattering earthquakes. Geomancers are often underestimated for their love of plants and disdain for city life. They more commonly choose peace and show value for life and the natural world. Asmunids, The Leshen Lord, is the god of flora and fauna, the protector of the natural world and associated with earth magic. Delvheim produces the most earth mages, potentially due to many being born under ground and with ancestors gifted at digging through the mountains. Earth magic weakens significantly at sea.
